CAPACITY BUILDING
We Are NOT Weapons of War is a pioneering organization in the fight against sexual violence in armed conflicts and crises. The NGO operates as a Think Tank Do Tank, making its skills available to institutions, development agencies and members of civil society, through an approach based on field experience and an in-depth understanding of geopolitical, societal and legal issues.
OUR SERVICES
Consulting and strategic support
Support for national and international institutions to integrate a conflict-sensitive, gender-sensitive approach and the Women, Peace and Security agenda into their programs, and to adapt the necessary legal frameworks and practices.
Training and capacity building
WWoW offers tailor-made training programs, adapted to the specific needs of professionals and non-professionals confronted with the challenges of sexual violence linked to conflicts and crises.
These training and support courses cover a wide range of topics, from the mechanisms of sexual violence and its psychosocial and legal consequences, to best practices for supporting, interacting with and guiding survivors. They also include essential notions of human rights, international law and transitional justice, as well as qualifications for international crimes. Advanced crime documentation and interviewing techniques are also taught. A central component of these training courses is the secure use of the digital BackUp tool, designed to optimize data collection and analysis while guaranteeing a secure environment.
OUR APPROACH
Local adaptation: Each project is designed according to the specific context, culture and needs of the stakeholders involved.
Personalized mentoring: individual support and transmission of best practices to ensure lasting change.
Empowerment: Developing local expertise for long-term action.
